The Bloomsbury Hotel

The-Bloomsbury-Hotel-1

Since 2013 the Irish Literary Society has been meeting at The Bloomsbury Hotel, in London’s literary heartland. The hotel provides an elegant setting for our meetings and excellent facilities for our guests and members. We are delighted to continue our relationship with The Bloomsbury and to contribute to its reputation as a home to literary events in London. Occasionally we will hold public events away from the Bloomsbury, this will always be clearly indicated on our event pages. We are always delighted to partner with our friends at the Irish Cultural Centre in Hammersmith for events and in the 2019-20 season will have events there.

Our meetings at The Bloomsbury are usually in the sumptuous George V room.

The association with The Bloomsbury Hotel extends further back than 2013 as our former President, Seamus Heaney, was a regular guest and the Hotel’s fine library (see above) is named in his honour. On occasion ILS events will take place away from The Bloomsbury as we engage with a wide range of partners. The Annual Yeats Lecture begun in 2014 is held at the Embassy of Ireland.
